Discounts
If you look hard enough, there's always a discount to be found. Children, students and seniors usually have a variety of discounts available to them. Traveling in a big group or with your family? Be sure to ask for discounts as well.
Flights
To save money on airfare, be flexible with your flight dates and times. Traveling on Tuesdays or Wednesdays is generally cheaper than flying on a Friday or Saturday. You may have to drag yourself out of bed and hop on a 6AM flight to save money as well.

Grocery Stores
Eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout your vacation is sure to affect your finances. When you get to your destination, the first thing you should do is find the nearest grocery store. Stock up on water, snacks and basic ingredients like fruits, eggs and bread. You'll thank yourself later when you can quickly fix yourself a sandwich without going out to buy one.
Reward Points
Take advantage of reward programs such as frequent flyer points. Credit cards also have reward programs and you can use your points to get discounted rates for accommodations and flights.

Plan Ahead
This should be a no brainer, but you'll be surprised how many people leave their planning till the last minute. If you're thinking of going on vacation next summer, you should start planning now! You don't have to book anything yet, but start figuring out dates and putting a budget together. Planning ahead not only saves you money, but it is less stressful when you have plenty of time to plan and you're not trying to put something together 2 months before your trip.
Hope these tips helped! Tell us, how do you save money on travel?
